Posted January 08, 2018 14:38:38If you have been laid off or have lost your job, you may need to pay an extra amount of ERAS to cover the cost of your care and carers expenses if you need help finding work, a guide for employers says.
The ERAS (Employment and Support Allowance) calculator is designed to help employers make sure their workers are paid on time, on budget and on budgeting.
But the guide warns employers may not have the funds to cover all their costs, and is designed for employers who are planning on cutting jobs.
It asks whether you need ERAS or your employer should provide it.
If you need an ERAS payment, you will need to be registered and insured with the Insurance Bureau of Australia (IBSA) before you can claim.
If you do not have insurance, you must apply for it from the Medicare Benefits Claimant Centres.
IBSA says the ERAS calculator can be used for any worker who has lost their job.
If the ERas calculator is inaccurate, you can contact the Business Office of the Australian Government.
